Even though the film, Die Hard, is one of my all time favorites.... recording this deep dive turned into a true labor of love! Between scheduling, researching, tech issues, re-records..... last year I felt almost 'over-dosed' on John McClain and Hans Gruber.
This year, I've kept the viewing to a bare minimum and I am saving it for my traditional Christmas Eve presentation. "It isn't Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi towers!"

Personally, I have alot of fun doing the deep dives. It reminds me so much of one of my favorite shows of all time, MST3K. "It's like watching a favorite movie with some of your funniest friends." So if you are into details and picking apart one of the great action/buddy-cop films of all time... then here's your golden ticket to grab your dead-beat uncle Joe and visit us at our factory of film analysis.

Merry X-Mas.... Yo Yo Yo! In the City of Angels, anything can happen. And when the yule-tide, action bug kicks in, one of the greatest titles you will find is the classic cop-buddy film, Lethal Weapon. We really spent a lot of time digging into this one and keep in mind.... we ended up having to chop this one into two parts or risk damaging the brains of you toxic avengers with the netflix level attention spans.
So grab your berretta, roll across the floor and fire up some Christmas spirit!

What can we say? We LOVE this film, so we put it through the paces of our re-vamped analysis system and took another look at Cobra. THIS time, we invited our Millenial brother to lead the discussion and asked him to quiz us on the insanity that is contained within this film.
And just out of curiosity, would anyone like to see this movie re-made? But this time, taking place in Seattle, where the Axe Gang was born from a group of disgruntled lumberjacks.... masters of all things that can cut! With their axes the ONLY weapon they use, even during high speed chases between cars and motorcycles. I know I would like to see that!

Why don't you take a picture, it'll last longer!
Well, we've pulled Pee Wee out of the dark and into the sunlight and for anyone who has never experienced the 'man-child' creation of Paul Reubens.... I honestly don't know how to prepare you for this Big Adventure. But I will say that if you listen to this podcast, you WILL be better equipped to enjoy this creation of Tim Burton in his early days.
This is one of Ricky's all time favorite films and you can hear the joy in his voice. We hope you enjoy the ride!

Like Commander Ace of Megaforce fame once said, "It's on the wheel.... it all comes around!"
And the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic action film 'Commando' is just ONE example of something being too good to not have more than one conversation about. So if you joined us for our first official podcast episode, we would love to hear from you what you think about the differences between that discussion on Commando and this one.

It's frequently said that sequels don't live up to the original in the series. And since we are ONLY in the business of cliche's.... we're happy to jump neck deep into the pool of things we don't like.
Some characters are welcome to come back knocking on our doors, but others..... their first visit was great but they when they keep coming back.... and the visits get more and more uncomfortable.... it becomes evident that their reason for existing is purely to try and squeeze every penny out of a great idea.
Join us for some great back and forth and see if we mention any of your favorites or most hated films!

Knock, Knock...
Who's there?
The Boogeyman....
Boogeyman, who?
Boogeyman is gonna get you!!!
With a gentle dose of violence, great use of musical score and the highest tech in cameras at the time, we LOVE this holiday classic by the great John Carpenter! One of his stipulations was that his name should appear with the film title in the credits.
Rob and Rick help guide Johann along the leaf filled streets of Haddonfield (California) where pumpkins were in short supply and the physics of palm trees dropping leaves has YET to be explained.
So we hope your costumes are ready to go, hope your house is appropriately decorated and you DAMN sure better have some treats to hand out when the costumed folk arrive at your door! Happy Halloween everyone.

Back in 1985, we learned that being a nosey neighbor can be bad for your health.... and the health of your friends, your car and several nameless ladies of the night! Charlie Brewster, who is soooo cool, is distracted from his pursuit of cancelling his virginity by the suave Jerry Dandritch who moves in next door and enjoys being a bit of an exhibitionist for his teenage voyeur.
Dan the Man isn't joining us on this venture so the use of the Queen's English will be put on hold in favor of us American cousins who can drive trucks, watch wrastlin' and swill beer!
If you've never seen this version of Fright Night, give it a watch! It has some great moments, fun special effects, a surprisingly engaging soundtrack and an homage to all of those late and great night horror tv shows. We all have to have faith for this to work!

For the month of October, when so many of us enjoy venturing into the 'darker corner' of the video store (and no.... not the corner that was blocked off by glass beads in the door way), it seemed proper to highlight horror films of this great decade.
Danny leads this discussion of blood, gore and video-tape from the era we consider to be the center of OUR universe. From ground breaking special effects to the cultural commentary left over from the Viet Nam war and the suspicions cultivated into society after having been lied to by so-called 'trusted agencies,' there is a treasure trove of art for us to view and review.
You may THINK you know horror films.... so join us for this discussion and see if we get it right or fire off some messages our way to let us know if we got something wrong. And then be sure to open your puzzle box and file a complaint with our (pin)head of customer success. He LOVES interacting with the public.
